Aphrodite Go collects only what is necessary to provide you with a personalised diet and wellness experience. Below is a summary of the categories of data we handle.

Account Information

Order ID and phone number.

Health & Activity Data

Daily step counts, activity recognition data, and manually logged meals or goals.

Consultation Data

Audio and video from in-app voice and video consultations with diet coaches.

Device & Usage Data

Device type, OS version, app version, crash logs, and feature usage analytics.

Push Notification Tokens

FCM device tokens used solely to deliver your water reminders and step goal alerts.

App Permissions Explained

Aphrodite Go requests the following device permissions. Each is used only for the purpose stated below and never accessed without a clear in-app action by you.

Activity Recognition Tracks your daily step count and detects physical activity type to power your step goals and health insights.

Camera Used for video consultations and capturing profile photos. When selecting an existing image, Aphrodite Go uses your device's system photo picker, which does not require gallery permission.

Microphone Audio is used only during active voice or video consultations and is not recorded or stored by default.

Notifications Sends water intake reminders and step-goal alerts you configure. You can disable these at any time from your device settings.

Foreground Service & Boot Receiver Allows the step counter to continue accurately tracking after device restarts and syncs missed step data when you reopen the app. No background data is sent without your knowledge.

How We Use Your Data

We use your information for the following purposes only:

    Providing the service. To operate your account, display your step counts, log meals, send water reminders, and connect you with diet coaches.
  • Personalisation. To tailor meal recommendations, step goals, and hydration targets to your profile, dietary preferences, and history.

    Improving the app. Anonymised, aggregated usage data helps us understand which features work well and fix bugs faster.
  • 📧
    Communications. Transactional emails such as password resets, appointment confirmations, and important service announcements. We do not send unsolicited marketing without your opt-in consent.

    Safety & compliance. To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service, and to comply with applicable legal obligations.

We share your data only where necessary to operate the service:

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on our servers. We implement industry-standard safeguards including:

Encryption in transit All communication between the app and our servers uses TLS encryption.

Encryption at rest Sensitive data including health records and consultation content is encrypted in our database.

On-device storage Step counts and daily activity data are cached locally on your device using secure storage (expo-secure-store) and synced to our servers when you are online. If you are offline, data is queued locally and synced when connectivity returns — no data is lost.

Access controls Only authorised personnel with a legitimate business need can access user data, and all access is logged and audited.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services.

Account data is retained until you delete your account. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Health & activity data (step counts, meal logs) is retained for up to 2 years to provide you with meaningful historical insights. You may request deletion at any time.

Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to any individual.

Your Rights & Choices

You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

Access

Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time.

Correction

Update or correct your profile information directly in the app under Settings → Profile.

Deletion

Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us. We process requests within 30 days.

Portability

Request an export of your health and activity data in a machine-readable format.

Notification Control

Enable or disable push notifications from device settings or Settings → Notifications.

Permission Revocation

Revoke any device permission via your device's Settings. Revoking disables the corresponding feature.

Children's Privacy

Aphrodite Go is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will notify you via a push notification or an in-app banner at least 7 days before the change takes effect.

The "Effective" date at the top of this page always reflects the date of the latest revision. Continued use of Aphrodite Go after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
